Funny how things linger.

I wrote this song (which also has a melody) back when I was about 14. For some reason, it still hangs around me, especially when I'm depressed. It's not well-written, but it lingers.
*shrugs*

Father, mother,
Sister, brother,
Why do you try to possess me?
Father, mother,
Friend or lover,
I am not who you think me to be.
I am not me.

Do you see the girl behind the mask?
The tears run down her face.
The wall is round her.
No-one has found her.
The mask is back in place.
I am not me.

Father, mother,
Sister, brother,
Why do you try to possess me?
Father, mother,
Friend or lover,
I am not who you think me to be.
I am not me.

The smooth facade
To hide her heart
Has been in place for years.
She don't seem real.
A smile of steel.
Ice eyes to freeze her tears.
I am not me.

And that's all I have this week.

Powerful. If I am the Emo King, You shall be its queen.

All joking aside, it was well done. I would be interested in hearing the tune.

(And know that we each, in our own way, feel trapped behind the masks of ivory that serve to separate who we truly are from who we show the world.)

Now you've done it! Got me thinking all lyrically! LOL

*HUGS*

(And my security word for the day is 'pusterl'. Sounds vaguely ominous yet disgusting...) LOL

Very powerful and moving my love.

(And my verification is 'lessockt'- sounds vaguely ominous and French underwearish lol)
